Watch out for that San Diego frost bite. Denny, I know what you mean! I was watching the news yesterday about all the snow storms. It was getting warm so I had to open a couple windows. That way I can hear the truck pull up with my new trains! But you don't have the motivation to play with your trains. The snow and cold gives us an excuse to spend more time in the train room. Not you, your weather beckons you to go on a walk, to the beach, ride a bike, fire up the BBQ or whatever outdoor activity you please. Hey, wait a minute, never mind, you win. Can I come over to play?

How lovely... Another storm in line to hit Friday...maybe I should crack out the two year-old NIB snow-blower. I'm wondering...should I save the box to preserve collector value?

healey36 Don't do it! The minute you take a NIB snowblower out of the box its value will sink like a rock on water...and if you get rid of the box no self respecting collector will even look twice at it! If you want to actually run it you need to go to a local TCA (Terribly Cold Air) snow blower meet and find a good used one.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I've destroyed so much collector value over the years, chucking boxes.
Is this TCA snow-blower enthusiast group open to new members? Will I need to get two signatures from current known-to-be-in-good-standing members to join? It's all too much...

Brrrrrr!!! It’s been brutally cold here in the affluent suburbs of San Diego. We haven’t been able to get much above 65 degrees! I had to put socks on! 🥶 My brother lives in San Diego. He's been there for years. I was there for his wedding back in 71.

I never had to shovel snow when I lived in Florida or California; now I'll have to be out at 5 AM tomorrow to deal with the white stuff. (in the teens) Alfred (If I had a new snowblower, I would take it out of the box and use it - heck with the devaluation.)

Yeah, tomorrow may be to heck with collector value...they upped the forecast to 4-6 inches, possibly more. That’s about my limit for shoveling/scooping.

They are saying 5-7"or more snow starting tonight depending how it tracks. It can snow all it wants beings I don't have to shovel it. One of the advantages of being old.

The last snowstorm before we moved to California was a foot of heavy wet snow and slush. It was so dense that it busted my snowblower when I only had half of the driveway and long sidewalk done. The rest I had to finish with my shovel. Because it was winter I had to wait until April to get it repaired.
I sure don’t miss that slop!

Seventeen here at 0600, and now the wind is howling (only 22 degrees a few minutes before Noon). I'm glad I don't have tickets to the Baltimore-Houston football game this afternoon; that's gonna be miserable. Watching from my sofa sounds much more appealing.
