Fedx came through. Mine arrived today as well. Thank you. A very generous gift and it will always have a memory attached. Our mail service is so bad I didn't expect to see this till after Christmas. Merry Christmas to all. S.J.

Emil and Jennifer, Thank you again for hosting the party and having a prize drawing. The mail came about an hour ago and with it came the new Reading box car. This is my first non-Lionel car, and for that matter, the first 'new' non- post war rolling stock I havd ever had. I can't wait to run it; it is a nicely made heavy car - that will have to wait - my tracks are all gone off the layout, except for the elevated section. I just may run it bby hand on the tracks later. Alfred

Mine arrived yesterday, but I've been so involved in my test layout rebuild I neglected to note it online. It's one of the few non-Marx pieces I have, and will join the other rolling stock on the animation showcase I'm building on the old test layout, a work still in progress: More pics (and progress!) soon, I hope, and a new place to add my new boxcar to my small Lionel and Lionel-compatible consist! Thanks again, and happy holiday to all! As my one-year-old granddaughter would say, "Ho ho ho!"

Well, made enough progress so far today that I was able to stage the first run, with the GG-1 pulling every Lionel-compatible car I own, including the Menards CSX boxcar from the OGF Zoom Christmas party!
Thanks again, Emile and Jennifer, and all who attended!

My new Menards Norfolk Southern Boxcar has been added to the roster. However, before we held the induction ceremony (which included Champaign, a brass band, a speak from the president of the MESA-East Railroad and late night reveling) could proceed, the maintenance crew had to do some minor truck surgery. One of the trucks simply was not attached! Very easy fix, so all is good, but not expected.

One of the trucks simply was not attached! Very easy fix, so all is good, but not expected. Interesting! I had the very same thing happen, right out of the box. No evident stress, but the truck and the rest of the boxcar came out of the plastic in two pieces! No evident loose screw or damage, but a couple of minutes fiddling with it resulted in what so far has been a secure press fit. I gingerly transferred it to the new layout (video above, no champagne involved!), where it has run without problems, at least so far!

That sounds like a great party, Adam! Next time I’d like to join you at an induction ceremony. And maybe after a few champagnes, I can show you my caboose!!

I can suppress the nightmares now.
