I used to have a British Scalextric figure-eight set when I was a kid. It had the old school F1 style racers. There was a rail interchange set produced by Tri-Ang Minic that matched TriAng Hornby 00 trains. You could drive the car ( an Aston Martin!) off the main route, up a ramp and on to a transporter car. I wanted one but never got around to it. Minic Motorail set - www.minicmotorways.org.uk/Motorail%20Set.htmDave

I had slot cars back in the late 60's they were 1/24th. There were tracks that were rented in closed store fronts that if you didn't have a track at home. Of course in the store fronts the tracks were much larger.

Belonged to a 1/32 scale slot car club in Detroit back in the 1970's. Most of us guys worked at the Chrysler Engineering Center in Highland Park. Michigan.
Had about 15 regular guys and raced year round on Wednesday's but took the summer off.
Custom brass chassis with hopped up motors. Use to run NASCAR bodies for 6 weeks and then switched to Endurance cars for the next 6 weeks.
In between seasons we ran endurance races with and without headlights for an hour at a time.
We alternated between 6 custom home tracks and also raced at a Slot Car Store / Race track too.
What a blast!

I had quite a bit of Aurora HO slot cars when I was about 10 years old. They were fun at the time but I eventually outgrew them and sold them many years later to an Aurora hobbyist.
EZ Streets was still available from Bachmann a couple of years ago. As far as I know they still make and sell them. Lee Willis' book is a wealth of knowledge about EZ Streets.

A visit to my local hobby store confirmed that Carrera makes 1/43 scale slot cars in their Go Line. Mostly race cars but I did see some Mustangs and police cruiser that would look good in a city/town setting.

Started with a Lionel HO slot car racing set. Then got into Aurora cars and track as they are better and you can customize the drive trains with different gearing and wheels and tire sets. I still have all of that stuff. Even the extra gear sets and tires.
Got my first set around 1966. Added to it through High School and ran the cars at local hobby shop tracks. Would get together with other guys and set up LONG drag strips! Fun!
All packed away now. Don't know what I will ever do with them. Not sure if there is any real interest in these things anymore.
Always like my trains better. Still have and enjoy them today!

Not sure if there is any real interest in these things anymore. I go to a couple of vintage toy shows each year, and I can assure you, there's quite a bit of interest in the HO-scale race sets and cars.

Not knowing how or even if I can, the only option left is to direct you to this You Tube Video entitled 'The World's Premier Slot Car Race Track' on the Lunch King channel. This channel is usually about food apparently however the young man presenting the video has an uncle who has created this unbelievable slot car layout. It would challenge the best train layout w/o question. Take a look, it is indeed impressive, and huge.
