My dad will be greatly missed. I look forward to my contributions to the group and sharing/posting my future train layout. Debbie,
Rose and I offer our deepest and most sincere condolences to you and your family. I never met your Dad in person, but he and I corresponded quite a bit over the years.
This news has shocked me, and taken me by surprise. I don't know quite what to say right now.
Take care, Tom

Debbie, so very sorry to read about the passing of your Dad. Deepest condolences to you and your family.
To say I am stunned to read this sad news would be an understatement. Your Dad’s contributions to this forum and O-Gauge trains in general were larger than life. And I don’t say that lightly. He was a passionate, enthusiastic driver for the betterment of our hobby for decades. And you should be proud of all the lives be touched. He will be missed in the O-Gauge community more than any words can properly describe.
Prayers and virtual hugs coming your way!

My condolences to the Vaill Family, he will be deeply missed. Brian was an inspiration for many in the O gauge community, from scenery and Christmas themes, to layout construction. His vision on how a train forum should be run is greatly appreciated by many train enthusiasts. I am grateful I had the chance to know him, and for his expertise.

The passing of Brian Vail has brought back some really good memories with him. When I joined this forum a couple of years back Brian was very welcoming and appreciative of the pictures that I posted of my layout here. He really laid out the red carpet for myself making me feel very special for joining OGF. The sign that he sent me is proudly displayed on my layout in his memory. I've only had good experiences with Brian. Brian will remain in the thoughts and prayers of the LaGrua family. R.I.P. in heaven my good man.

My deepest and most heartfelt condolences! He will be missed SO MUCH! He and his lady created and maintained this wonderful place where we could all enjoy the hobby, fellowship and the exchange of ideas and ideals pertaining to this wonderful hobby.
Brian and Elizabeth also provided a place apart from our troubled world where we could recount the great days gone by of not only our model railroad hobby, but of the world in general.
May God bless them with the eternal happiness that they have earned and deserve.
And to Ms. Debbie, I hope for a long lasting presence here and for you to continue in your parents' footsteps in enjoying the hobby and the great people here.
Sending prayers and good thoughts your way.
Respectfully...

Oh wow. That is so sad. He had such a love of trains and this forum. I still remember the day we met at the New Jersey Highrailers. It was like we knew each other for years. My prayers are with him God bless.

I read of Brian’s passing shortly after Emile posted it here and I was stunned. I couldn’t believe that such a bright light of our hobby is gone.
Through our mutual love for passenger trains and Department 56 buildings we became friends for years and enjoyed seeing each other at the York Meets. Brian’s passing is one of those times that you think would never happen.
Debbie please accept our sincere condolences and hope God can bring you and your family comfort and peace.
Brian and Lynley

OMG, I am devastated... I spoke with him on the phone twice and exchanged emails. He was my friend even though we never met in person. It really hurts, hearing of his passing. I used to always joke with him that he and his wife were Mr. and Mrs Santa Claus. I am going to miss him very much. He is a great man and a great friend. I will never ever forget him and Elizabeth. My condolences and God Bless.
