Nothing but trains for 6 days at York. Should be an interesting week.

Nothing but trains for 6 days at York. Should be an interesting week. I agree but since decent hotels in the area are running in the $200 per night range, it should also be an expensive week. Travel costs for food lodging and transportation have soared considerably . It could easily end up being a thousand dollar trip. It may keep some of the audience away but the attendance numbers will tell the story. Have fun there Eddie.

If you made your reservation for October right after the April meet, you would have got a much better rate.

The final preparations are being made! Just have to contact the pet sitter. Lynley and I will be arriving the weekend before to meet our new Grandson (our 9th Grandchild) who was born in May. We'll also be visiting with family and friends in the area and I also secured tickets for the Philadelphia Flyers vs. Vancouver Canucks on Opening Night!
FINALLY...... Traindiesel will come back... to York, Pennsylvania!!! Who's show is it? It's what everybody's sayin'..... TRAINDIESEL WILL BE IN YOUR CITYYYYYY!!

I looks like a lot of people on this forum are not going or don't know anything about York. I have been to over 90 Yorks, and I live 535 miles away, and I still drive it along with my daughter. I am now as most of you know 93 years old. I have tables in the blue hall next month. I will be there all week. Believe it or not I am still buying, but this will be my last York.

Sorry to hear this is the last in the streak, Eddie. I’ll be there for a few hours on Friday...I’ll try to drop by when you’re at your table.

I use to attend shows of various Hobbies I had, but the savings or bargains one may find are now because of expenses in Motels and eating out and fuel, making the buys no longer bargains. Its the only reason now why myself and many of my friends no longer attend many events. Its to easy to lay out 1000.00 in expenses before even attending an event.

This will be my 77th straight York and I used to go for at least 3 or 4 days now I'm down to one mostly because of Medical and cost issues. When I first started I would make fun of all the old people, NOW I am the old person. Its been alot of fun and I will continue as long as I can. I don't buy much anymore but its fun seeing friends and talking about trains and catching up with people I only see at York.
