Emile I wouldn't think that I'd have anything to contribute on this subject but for the fact that yesterday, entirely by accident, I came across this old K-Line special issue semi-scale boxcar. I have no idea what year this dates from but I bet it's 20 years ago:
This is almost a match color-wise for Emile's GP 30.
But WHITEWALLS - now yer talkin'!!! So much derided by purists who want to weather things down to individual rivet level, which I could never bring myself to do. Yesterday I was also thinking for the first time how clearly the whitewalls show on the tender of my Daylight cab forward, which has been doing holiday duty:

My B&M F3 A-A locomotive has some white. Always liked that color scheme, very striking.
