Very nice EMILE. Is that a caboose camera or is it one of yours. I have one of the Lionel caboose cameras and I’ll have to try that out on the layout. Thanks.

George, what a great video to start Whistle Stop Wednesday. The Rocky Mountaineer is a beautiful train.
Emile, excellent video. I enjoyed the ride behind the powered unit. It gives a completely different perspective.
Thanks to both of you for the fine videos.

Those are some cool cars Laz! The color scheme is just so much fun to look at.
Emile, that was just a fun video to watch. That perspective makes the layout feel larger than life.
Wednesday may have just become my favorite train day!

The powered unit was a Lionel trackmobile in the Amtrak livery. It always fun to run that little powerhouse. I had the camera aimed at the Trackmobile because I was experimenting with perspective that I’ve since used to video Lionel Subway cars. Emile

George and Emile, great job on the cool videos... love 'em!!! George, those full vista-dome cars on the Rocky Mountaineer are indeed very limited. I was told MTH only produced 25 sets of the full vista-dome car 2-packs. Whether that's accurate or not, I can't say for sure. But what I can say is I pre-ordered this entire train from a well-known midwest dealer, and he only fulfilled two of the three full vista-dome 2-packs I ordered. Not sure exactly what happened there -- he might have been short-shipped by MTH, or he might have just decided to short my order so as to give one of his walk-in customers a full vista-dome 2-pack on the spot. Whatever the case may be... as soon as I knew my order was short, I quickly snagged 2 more full vista-dome 2-packs -- one each from two other MTH dealers I frequent.... giving me one HUGE Rocky Mountaineer train consisting of 3 locomotives (two GP40's from this year plus the GP38 from 2017) and all the individual passenger cars MTH produced this year -- including 8 full vista-dome cars. MTH gets tons of kudos for bringing this set to market at a time when they're really trying to avoid major re-tooling efforts wherever possible. Had MTH made the set more true to the prototype, it would have required significant new tooling for the hi-level superliner style Goldleaf Service full-dome cars in real-life. As it is though, the effect is cool even with regular-height, full vista-dome cars. And I'm super happy with what is now my favorite -- and most colorful -- passenger train set on my roster. David

Thanks GUYZ for the kudos on the video. Stay tuned every Wednesday for more videos.
DAVID, I didn’t know that thevista dome cars were that limited. Wow wonder if they will be any sightings at YORK? If you have four sets and I have three sets of these vista dome cars, both of us have almost 30% made. WOW!!! Enjoy your set.
