GOT ONE !!!!
This never happens. If it's not that great I'll let the kids run the wheels off of it.
I just received a John Bull set from York on Monday. 2 things in one week. Unheard of.
I hope Santa won't be mad.

I think you just helped the big guy out! I look forward to your report on how they look and run.

If it was New York Central I would jump on it but since it’s Santa Fe I’ll pass, however I really like the bluebonnets. I think they are beautiful. 😍

It's great for Menards that these always sell out so fast but I think they could produce larger quantities and still have a quick sell out. If they had enough to last a weekend there would still be buzz every time a new comes out. The current production runs sell out in hours. You have to stay glued to your email just to have a fighting chance at getting one. They are selling out too fast and it's starting to get irritating.

I agree with Emile on the way Menards does this. But I will decide when they come out without any problems and are sold as a regular item on their website. Sell me the regular production run of the blue bonnet. Its getting old what they are doing.
Btw there are several on eBay for $450-550.00. The shysters are alive and well trying to screw the buyer.

Since these are test engines I have no problem with the limited number of engines released. When all the bugs 🐞 are worked out I expect Menards to produce enough engines so everyone who wants them can get them. I don’t think Menards wants to have too many subpar engines with their name on them out there.

Considering they are designing their very first engine, I think their approach is very good actually. They are not only getting free testing, they are also getting customer feedback. And they are ensuring the best possible quality. It does take time with rework and shipping back and forth overseas. Not to mention the fact that they alone designed two different color schemes, which hints to more coming.
I have to comment Menards here. That your time and get it right.

This always happens after I spend my money on something else and then I am like DOH!

This always happens after I spend my money on something else and then I am like DOH! I would not worry about it. I jumped on the very first Menards AT&SF engine and have stayed away from these offerings since. I like this one but no way am I going to support yet another "Beta" release. If or when they enter the mainstream market I'll look again, but meanwhile I am content with their O scale buildings. These are not products made to endure generations but they have great entertainment value.

Some people already have them. They aren't happy because there is some minor damage because they are packaged in blister packs...
