Time to get back to working on the layout.Task number one is to finish closing in the area between the upper and lower levels of track. I have a 41 inch gap left to fill.I will continue on with the tree covered hillside you see to the left of the gap, I like the way the trains look moving through the trees. I will extend the hillside down to where the concrete wall begins and then taper it gradually down to track level.
I will be using the same blue foam I've been using throughout the layout and will need to carve some type of tunnel portal in it. The trade name is DuPont Trymer foam insulation. (polyisocyanurate) is a closed-cell, foam insulation for industrial pipes, vessels, and equipment. It nothing like Styrofoam insulation,I was introduced to it through my association with Roger Farkash of TW Trainworx fame.
Here is a video of how easy it is to create scenic elements with it.

That's an amazing material, Dave. It looks like it's very easy to work with.

Dave, I like the scheme that you have for the hillside.. The foam product seems like just the right stuff. Alfred
