This video was not taken by me, it just showed up on "THE TUBE" when I was looking for something else. Anyway, This is our clubs modular layout that is
32 X 16. We set all this up with 8 people in 6 hours. What he did not show was on the side of the layout we have buttons for the public to push that will animate something on the layout. Also the building you see at the beginning house all the bricks and legacy system components. The back of the buildings are open so we can hit reset's ect. It's not a very good video but it shows the general idea. I'll post more after we get it going.

Maine Coon Cats, really big. We ought to know. Agreed...you and Elizabeth are certainly in the right place. I will try to get a few photos of them “train watching” this year. Here is a recent one...I think they were trying to tell their Mom something...

Fun layout! Nice use of EZ-Streets. There's a lot of man hours in that layout and it pays off. Thanks for posting it. Emile

I will be happy if I can get a train running under the tree this year. One of the problems of living in Florida is that since we have no basements storage space is limited. Your right, no basements in Florida and the average homes don't have large rooms. I was lucky my wife allowed me to have the biggest bedroom. Our Christmas tradition has been to always been to put my brothers Sears "O27" train under the tree along with the accessories that came with the set. Mostly for memories. If at Christmas time I remember, I'll take a pic to post. Nothing exciting, just memories.
We built our home in 2016 and expanded 3 rooms, the master bedroom, the dining room and the den. The expanded den is my train room. Memories are a big part of the hobby for many of us. I don't really need a train under the Christmas tree when I have a layout in the den but I grew up with trains under the tree and now it reminds me of those happy Christmases long ago.

This will be our third Christmas in our new home, but the first time we will be decorating. Our first year we were still unpacking, so no room or time to decorate. Last year we suffered the death of my Father-in-Law right after Thanksgiving and spent the whole month of December at his home trying to organize his financial affairs and we became caretakers for my Mother-in-Law. We are cautiously optimistic we will decorate this year, but the under the tree layout will be iffy. Most of my trains and buildings are in storage awaiting the creation of my Train Palace on our front lot. But I do have access to my locomotives, transformers and track. I'm not above just running a new engine under the tree. We shall see!

This thread inspired me. I just ordered the Lionchief Polar Express set for around the tree and some Christmas themed boxcars for the layout. I plan to add a little more model train Christmas every year. I feel giddy!!

Can't wait to see photos of your layout as Christmas gets closer.
