hello all tammie has been busy and finished the water scene I made a video but alas so far youtube/capture on ipad so far not being kind to uploading it. the next area is a farm scene that until Saturday morning was 2/3rds complete but tammie after viewing it for a month tore it all apart! artists are a finicky bunch yet the results are good once they zero in on the look they are trying to achieve.
I am sort of working on that live background water scene I purchased a 1x4x8 sheet of pink foam cut a strip 6 inches wide by 8 feet long and attached it to the tv's foam board so the left over piece about 32 inches wide and 8 feet long can rest on that 6 inch piece I made a temporary brace at the front so the foam stays up and on the sides used scrap foam to hold it up in place. I am in stage on where the tunnel portals will go as well as creating the transition from the foam top to the lower level of tracks as well as shortening the foam top to be no more than 24 inches wide and length is still not determined yet.
I did move the PC's wiring to a new hole in layout table top so the trains possibly snagging them is no longer an issue this pc has always been slow to loading either windows xp or windows 10 and watched a video on malware/virus removal using known safe and good free software I ran them and it now loads as it did 15 years ago!

Sounds as if you are making a lot of progress. Hope that you get the video/pictures to work. Bringing new life to a computer is one talent that eludes us.
Would love to see the water scene as it progresses.

I found the issue with taking video on ipad using the horizontal screen seems the switch was set to lock the screen in vertical mode! so here is a short video of the live stream using a pc and a video downloaded from youtube. as long as not marked private or not wanting to share the video for download is okay to use it for use but not to sell it! I had a waterfall but the person recording it moved it a lot not able to find one like this stream bed as a constant view.

I'm thinking that it might take some effort to blend the TV into the backdrop but I think it would be worth the effort. It looks far more realistic than anything you could create with scenery materials.

I found some still photos of the tv and pink foam a before and after tammie painted pink foam same color as wall in back of it. the tv screen when off could be masked by using another foam board painted same blue but then where do you store it when in use! the beauty of using pink foam board is its lite weight and is removable so if tv fails a matter of removing the foam board and undoing pc and power wires from tv and pull off tv bracket the foam board that will butt up to the tv foam board is being designed to be removable as well with all light weight scenery only. imagine the scenes you could create on a long wall!

That looks fabulous! You just have to paint the foam to match the TV scene and it will look great. That is a very clever idea.
