This cold weather is brutal! It only got up to 65 degrees today. I think I saw a cirrus cloud. I can’t wait for Spring!! Bragging again Brian, don't forget you live in California, the land of fruit and nuts. We here in the real world will just freeze and have to to walk in the snow. See ya buddy, Dave Dave, the weather here does provide for some really good produce!
And don’t forget to walk in the snow all uphill, both ways! Hope you’re doing well, my friend.

Had it not been for snow, I would not have stayed in and built a layout! Dennis, you are correct. The weather here in Southern California has slowed down my layout progress. I keep waiting for a chilly, snowy day for layout work and it never comes!

Monday night into Tuesday we got 8". I Hate SNOW! At least I have a tractor with a loader and scarfier box. Thursday we got another 6". I HATE Snow!!! Clear everything just to have wind blow all this 2nd snow, which is dry, all back creating drifts. I HATE SNOW! I also hate this cold weather. AND HATE is the correct word! I feel your pain with the wiper blade Denny. BUT look on the bright side. If you are so mad you could punch a hole in a brick wall, why not harness that and go to the layout and punch a few holes in the walls near the layout. That way you can lay track and expand into the next room. Just trying to help!

I loved snow, when I was a kid it was the only way to make some money. As a adult it still was a way to make some extra money. Now that the doctor told me not to shovel snow I can just watch the beauty of it falling.
I have never wanted to live in a place that never had snow.

I have never wanted to live in a place that never had snow. Dave Dave, I said that too at one time. Until I traded the cold and the back aches for sunshine and suntans almost all the time. You get used to it fast.

I like hearing what the weather is like in different parts of the country - the winter weather sure encourages layout work but I look forward to it being warmer than 10 degrees - today's high will be 11 - and that's before wind chill and all that.

The wind is worse with high rise buildings. I remember walking to school in Chicago and the wind was blowing so hard I could hardly walk. If it was cold, it would go right through you.

We had about 5" of snow up here last week. I like snow much better than rain. With rain you get wet, with snow you just pick it up and move it aside. Not too much shoveling here in Western NJ. With a 150'long driveway it would be an immense job We have an old Case tractor that does a great job. It was built in 1987 and like my 70 year old P/W trains it still works. For the roads my wife's Jeep Gladiator goes anywhere in any weather. You don't even need roads with that thing.

You snow guys are lucky. You just have to shovel, blow, or plow it away. Here in Florida, most of our trees drop leaves in January and must spend my free time to run trains to rake leaves and also still mow grass. Last week it was a 13 bags of leaves rake job, this week probable equal it.
