The Deland train show is this weekend. It's probably the biggest train show in Florida.
Here are the details:
Jan 8-9 – Florida Rail Fair – Deland – Train Show/Swap Meet
Show Address: Volusia County Fairgrounds / Tommy E. Lawrence Arena & Townsend Arena 3150 E New York Avenue, Deland, FL 32724 (Located off I-4, exit 118 A)
Show Hours: Saturday, 9 am - 4 pm Sunday, 10 am - 3:30 pm Admission: $10.00, good for both days. Children under 12 are free. Free Parking. Discount coupons are available at www.gserr.com.
Is anyone planning planning on attending this show? I will be going on Saturday, wearing my blue Vero Beach Model Railroaders shirt and my yellow OGF York badge holder. I will be at the show until about noon, then get lunch and drive over to Roundhouse South Electric Trains in Port Orange. Maybe I'll get to see you at the show or at Roundhouse South.

I wish I had posted this earlier, Walt. It would have been great to meet you in person. The next Deland show will be on Saturday, April 9th.

The others are Saturday only. The April show is only on the 9th.

I picked up 2 items Saturday, 1 at the show and 1 at Roundhouse South.
I have been looking for an American Flag for a while and found this Railking model that I like a lot. Right now it’s in the residential area but I may move it to the city park or the recreational campground.
I found this Lionel hobo camp at Roundhouse South

Very nice acquisitions, Joe. Your first photo shows excellent use of vehicles on your layout. They really make a big difference.

How well was the Deland show attended by both vendors and visitors. There was good attendance at the show. It seemed like all the usual vendors were there plus all the usual layouts. There were quite a few attendees, maybe only slightly less than before the China virus hit. I wore a mask at the show as did many though it seemed to me that the majority didn't wear masks.

Very nice acquisitions, Joe. Your first photo shows excellent use of vehicles on your layout. They really make a big difference. Thanks Brian. I agree, cars and trucks are a big part of the layout's scenery. They help to define the era and make it look like people actually live there. A layout without vehicles is definitely missing something.
