Train Diesel Brian and josef started threads this week about potential new products or a product that is no longer available. Both of these threads are very productive in terms of an "idea factory".
The Field of Dreams movie contains the famous line, "if you build it, they will come". One of the best lines that has eover come out of a movie. So thinking big here, what would you like to have made that is noy available for our hobby today. As an example, Emile wants a North Pole train Station that is very dramatic. He saw a photo I posted on the FFF thread of the Supoerior Lakes Trian Museum and likerd this structure a lot. Brian would like some of those brass station signs. I bet a lot of you would like to see O-Gauge elves made for your Christmas layouts. Mu guess is there are a whole lot of other ideas coming from our members.
Many look at the OGF every day, so who knows, maybe a supplier will take your ideas seriously.

I agree Brian. There are so many items I would like to see in "O" scale. The list is endless. There are times I just call up 1/48 on E Bay or internet to see models, scenery, buildings, etc. to see if anything new has come up. I've also modified many 1/48 military figures to civilian and railroad workers to get a bigger variation in poses, etc. Andre has helped a lot with his one of a kind structures and accessory kits that have added to my layout. Yes, "build it, they will come" is very true. Thanks for the post.

I'd love to see someone produce a Strasburg RR #90; if it happens, that will be a Joe McDoakes "I gotta have it" moment for me. John

I want a heavy or light Mike in Pere Marquette. MTH did one years ago... but no Legacy joy.

This is more of a dream or really want to build it. Since I don't have room for a round house or transfer table and the layout has vertical room. I was thinking of building a conveyor system for my engines. I thought it would work great on one of the edges or ends of the layout. That way you could get at the engines for cleaning and maintenance. Need to figure out how to power the track when the engine gets into position and keep the engine level as it rotates.

A couple things... 1)An ALCO MODEL - HH660....This is the early Alco switcher with a high hood. 2) An EMD SW9 or Alco S1 in Erie Railroad colors...black and yellow...

Brian,
You've got me pegged! A North Pole Terminal on the scale of the Lionel Vision GCT is at the top of my list. It would have to have steep roof angles and Scandinavian snow shedding design.

This is a great idea but I'm drawing a blank at the moment. I need some time to think this over. As Arnold Schwarzenegger would say, "I'll be back."

Interesting thread and the demand always seems to be for New Locomotives!
I think I am going to go "off the board" and request maybe something different?
1) Northern Pacific North Coast Limited passenger set 2) Great Northern Empire of the North and Empire Builder set 3) Drovers caboose 4) Smaller NP/GN/SP&S/UP Type wood caboose 5) Scale DD and SD Outside braced box cars 6) AAR style box cars with accurate trucks 7) Western Style drop bottom Gondolas 8) More scale style 8,000 gallon tank cars- shell, sinclare, etc 9) Pullman Palace cars - nobody makes these? 10)More reliable switch machine that mounts under the layout and is economical with a better wireless control from your panel 11)NEED more MTH remotes please... no phone control needed 12)Wood truss bridge kits and small wood kits like Cambell scale models offered in HO 13)We need die cast sprung trucks with a lower ride height and no pizza cutter wheel flanges. 14)shim pack kits and passenger style Kay-dee couplers with draft boxes and screws in one packet for MTH and Lionel cars. 15)Atlas and Gargraves Flex Track rail bender 16)O scale spikes 17) Die Cast truck / vehicles 1/48 from 1920's to 1940's 18) Better Tree kits - large oaks and pines - kits would be great 19) Better Ballast - less toy like 20) Diecast figures with QUALITY detail 21) MORE DOWNTOWN DECO style buildings. I think I built every kit twice now!
Well that's it in a nut shell ….

An easier way to add smoke fluid while the loco is running the rails. An Amtrak Acela set that is a little more for my bank account.

I’ve said this several times else where. Make Narrow Gauge Engines that run on 3-Rail. Essentially the same size of normal 3-Rail. I would like one of each Mikado, a C-21, C-19 and a T-12. A lot of freight cars and I’ll be one happy camper.
