For me trains are at best number 2 maybe three? I do enjoy working out, mostly walking and biking now, before it was running, along with throwing the weights around too. You gotta take care of your body first before doing anything else. Just my philosophy, yours might differ. Being healthy is always the first then everything else will fall in place. I also like hunting fishing and hiking or anything in the outdoor. Although when doing any of these things I am always thinking what I can do on the layout or planning to run. So trains really aren’t to far away in my thoughts. Laz, You are so right. A balanced, healthy lifestyle is a pre-requisite to enjoying what you have. I originally commented purely from a hobby context. My wife and I consider taking care of our heath as our number 1 priority and it is part of our lifestyle. The train room is right next to our regularly used gym. We also take the dogs on regular long walks as well. We've also dramatically changed how we eat, not that we don't treat ourselves from time to time. WOW, ADAM, you and I could be BROTHERS. Exactly the same set up we have here. Been throwing weights around eve since junior high and haven’t stopped. Also I take my dog up a 900 foot mountain daily. Or I should say she takes me. Use to run a rails to trails railroad bed but my knees really started to act up. This mountain walk usually 4 miles gets my heart rate up and keeps the ticker in great shape. Keep on training ADAM!!!! Both for yourself and the flanged wheels too.
