"Nice ride for the old guy. Brooklin made sure that he couldn’t slip one of those C T Balsam trees into the seat. What happened to the news about Trustworthy and his pimp C T? Things have been eerily quiet for those two."
Not to worry Bill, There is big news on the horizon for the now famous CT Balsam and Mayor Trustworthy. Yes, they will both be attending the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Woolworth Building that will be big by itself, but there is even more impressive news coming for CT.
Sent you an e-mail hint today.

John, with his beautiful 1949 Ford convertible, makes a great case for the convertible as a whole to make an impact on our layouts. They are easy to add passenger figures to add realism. The 1:43 scale vehicle manufacturers have given us a steady supply of gorgeous models. I am drawn to many of them as they sure are very cool. Here is an example of one that you will find on our layout, a 1958 Pontiac Bonneville convertible.

Martha and I got our first Covid shot (Pfizer) at Walgreens. I was such a good boy. I didn’t cry or complain one bit. For my good behavior I was able to get this 1957 Corvette from the toy department.

Good job, Adam, happy you got your vaccination today. Nice reward as well. This is a very good looking model of the Corvette during it's hey-day.

Yes, I was surprised at how detailed it is given that I found it at Walgreens and it was about $7.

I friend asked me last evening what would be a landmark car of the fifties. I replied, boy that is a really tough question. But pondering it a bit, my guess would be the 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air. Why, it was stylish and a vehicle most families could afford, so it was very popular. May not be the best representation of the dramatic styling of the 50's that the Buicks and Oldsmobiles own, but a rock solid design. The model shown below is an excellent example of the 57 Bel-Air. It is a Brooklin model.

For many years, Cadillac represented the height of excellence in American auto production. The 50's were no exception. This Motor City Model of a 1955 Cadillac Fleetwood 4-door certainly makes the point., class, styling, and just plain good looks are all about what this model represents. We have it as part of our Car Show where it really stands out.

Many folks when it comes to having their picture taken want it done from their "best side". 1:43 scale model cars can also have a "best side", or in some cases look better from the front or rear view. How does this apply to our layouts? I think we all went to make the best use of our accessories, so placing our models in the best possible setting is key. I spend a good deal of time evaluating each model and placing them on the layout for maximum exposure with their "best side". One of the nicest models on the layout is a 1948 Buick Roadmaster Woody. It's "best side" in my opinion is the front end (not that the whole model isn't beautiful). I went looking for the best placement for this model and found the perfect spot, the intersection of 42nd Street and Park Avenue. This placement shows off the front end nicely, but gives a good view of both sides. How do our members go about placing vehicles on their layouts? Brian, thanks for this idea. I hadn't thought of a vehicle having a "best side" so I just placed vehicles where I though they should be without considering which side was most visible. I will take a closer look at them and maybe turn some around or relocate them so their "best side" is prominent.

Looky here, look what UPS just dropped this off. Leave it to Big Crab Cake for touching off a scavenger hunt for me to find and purchase the coach I saw with my own eyes from the White Pass and Yukon train when I was in Skagway, Alaska a few years ago. What a trip! This will bring back good memories when I see it on my layout. $19.95 from Diecast Direct.

"This 1:43 model is available in black, white, silver, and powder blue. I have all 4."
Very special that you have all four. Thanks for featuring this model and the story about the production, Joe.
