You guys are certainly entitled to your opinion and it is a very nice engine, very, very nice. But according to the contest results, it is also second best. As in real life, it couldn’t pull its load. Y6B and 1953 Buick. Two proven and chosen winners. The Y6B is one of Lionel's best. Very diplomatic! It's just that it's never been THE best. That distinction belongs to AT&SF #3000. (P.S. We are not talking about models here, not real life.)

I should add that, unlike some later VL models I have seen, all the features on this one work as they should without having to fiddle around inside.
