LOL, what I got was a new chainsaw (which I didn't expect and thought the wrapped box contained a new engine). A 1/72 V2 metal rocket, trailer and launch pad for my rocket displays. Custom rig for one of my pistols for next year show. Finally a some Atlas Boxcars (4 of them) and it was the last box to be opened and didn't expect.

Walter, It sounds like you were a very good boy this year! it also sounds like you might have some tree work to do.

Adam, sounds like the visit to Mario's yesterday was very productive. It was an online visit, but I do believe I will have fun with these purchases just as I am with the rest of them. I probably need to pause on new train things for a while, but I do have more than enough to keep me happy for a while. Just wish we could have friends over to share them with.

I already cut the tree down (can you imagine an old man climbing a 75 foot tree and start from top down). But the chainsaw got messed up and did a jury-rig on it to finish.

Walter reminded me. My chainsaw was more or less part of my Christmas gifts according to Andra.

The wife got me a a painting titled "Alameda Bound," then had a frame custom made for it and presented it to me for Christmas. I'd posted just the painting earlier, but it looks much better with the frame.
This is in March, 1942, and shows Jimmy Doolittle's B-25 buzzing Southern Pacific's Coast Daylight south of the Bay Area. Doolittle's squadron of B-25s were able to get in some low-level practice time, just before their planes were loaded on to the U.S.S. Hornet at the Alameda Naval Air Station. Then they would sail across the Pacific in April, 1942, for the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo, which took place just a little over 4 months after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

I asked for 2 sets of PJ's and got them. Also, received some AWESOME cookies shipped all the way from the "Bakery Boys of Corona Queens NY. Mmmm mmmm good! I also got this really cool device to use during the China Virus, that looks like a key but has some kind of anti bacterial components to it. You use it to press anything in public like elevator buttons, ATM,s , gas station pump buttons, etc etc. Also, the greatest gift of all...my dog Poco's Lymphoma is in remission and he looks great with lots of energy!

My wife and I don't exchange gifts anymore cause if we want or need something we just go get it. So I guess my greatest gift was we took the chance and spent the day with our three kids and their families. We draw names at Thanksgiving and exchange gift cards. Preferred store card is with the name drawn. I drew our daughter's name and cheated. I saw something nice in the store she specified and bought her the gift instead. She did like it. As for me, not much.

My wife always seems to find me something non train related that I collect and can add to. Though, this very well may become a flatcar load.
