The end of MTH, let the price gouging begin. Since this went new for 50 bucks retail in 2004. I would like one but not at this price.

Not exactly on my list, that one - and certainly not at that price! I pity you poor milk car aficionados as you've have a raw deal for a long time.
Switch to aquarium cars, I say! Or rocket-launching, Pullmor-powered motorized units (I hesitate to call them engines but I love mine).

He can listed at any price he wants but I don't have to buy it. It tells me to stay away from his store also.
I have mostly stopped buying on eBay for this exact reason. Too many guys think they are selling gold.

I'm not an MTH guy. Bought this Lionel Hood's reefer operating milk car in 2011, new off eBay for $70.00, and it hasn't failed me yet.  I guess passenger train express milk cars never appealed to me. I could just stick this one at the head end of a passenger car consist and be happy.  |

The R50b express reefers have always gone for a steep price. Its way over my head, but if I needed to complete a passenger set well then ….
last year I found a 21 inch K line Union Pacific end observation car on Trainz auction site. I had to bid high to win it... it was the last car I needed to complete the complete set. I paid 250! Ouch … now try to find it for that price...

I have a Weaver Pacific in B&M, for years now I've been looking for some nice passenger equipment for it to pull. I was hoping MTH would re-release the B&M wood sided passenger cars but that's not going to happen. But I'm patient, all good things come to those who wait.

Bmartz does run his prices a bit higher than most. I have bought from him in the past and usually do well using the “make offer” option when it is present.
The price seems to be in the ball park for what other dealers are asking for similar cars.
Not a bad dealer, but you may need extra dough to get what you want from him...

Don't have any Milk Cars. At those prices I may never have them. Never heard of BRAD'S TRAINS. As my Grandfather used to say," He can hold his hand in his a**e for a long time before I'll buy it"!!

This stuff happens all the time in this hobby. It's sadly the seedier side of what is otherwise a terrific hobby. I see from the MTH website this was produced back in 2004. Very common to see these items carry a premium despite this being a rather nondescript car. For the most part, these R50B reefers are designed for head-end operation on passenger trains. I personally wouldn't use them in freight trains, but it's your RR and you can do whatever floats your boat. Hopefully, we'll be seeing more milk cars from Lionel -- the ones that ARE intended for freight trains, once they get their act together delivering milk cars again.
