Thanks, Joe. That's a nice layout and I would have liked to have seen it. Adam, sorry for the delayed response with photos, but work was kind of hectic today. I'm attaching a bunch of photos (hope this is ok) of my little experimental layout and some of my favorite locos. The first 8 show the layout from various angles. It's about 14'x8' with a 6'x4' extension tucked into the far corner, and an upper level. I have 2 loops of Fastrack on the main level surrounding a figure 8 with a siding, plus a dog bone on the upper level. The middle is dominated by the Lego amusement park, and I have the Lego Winter Village structures on the right side. The far end has some Plasticville and postwar structures. Today, I'm running a Lionel 226E / 2800 series freight train and a Lionel 225E / 2600 series freight train (these are crossing the double bridge in front), a postwar 675 passenger set around the figure 8, and a postwar military train headed by a 44 diesel unit on the upper level (crossing the upper bridge). In front of the amusement park, I've got a double siding to display a Marx 333 Meteor set and an AF prewar 3/16 O gauge ("S on O") set of freight cars. (I love the S on O because it allows me to run predecessors of postwar AF on my O gauge track.) The far left of the layout has a tunnel and and the start of a mountain where I'm experimenting with styrofoam cliffs - my first attempt at anything resembling landscaping. Yes, I need the practice... Photos 9, 10, and 11 show some of my favorites: Lionel 226E, 260E, AF 435, Wester Coil Zephyr, and AF prewar 806. I like to compare the tinplate, Italian-inspired 260E from 1930 with the die-cast 226E from about 10 years later to illustrate the changes Lionel was making in manufacturing processes at the time. Both are beautiful, but definitely a different look. Back to Lego in photos 12 and 13: I'm not currently running Lego trains since they use a track that is just slightly wider than O and most of the those trains are in storage. I dug out a couple of my favorite custom models of a Southern Pacific Daylight 4-8-4 and PA T-1 duplex 4-4-4-4. Both of these were designed by Anthony Sava (incredible Lego train designer!) and built by me from plans I purchased from him. These are both running models with DC motors in the tenders. They run well but you need a lot of space. If anyone is interested in learning more, I suggest checking out the Brick Model Railroader site (I think you will be impressed). These are very close to O scale in size and they look good running with Lionel, but again they need separate track. I'm working on a layout plan to address this in a few years... Finally, last photos show my most recent obsession: Lionel Standard gauge from the classic period. Here, I've got a 402E from 1927 pulling a few 200 series freights. I just love the size of these trains! For scale and fun, I've got the 212 standard gondola loaded up with a 2812 O scale gondola from about the same era (all from late 20s / early 30s). Just look at the size difference! I just won a 219 derrick car and 215 tank car last weekend in an auction but they haven't arrived yet. Trying to get them all... I took a video but it was too big to upload. Incredibly, the 402 easily pulls itself and all the cars with that little modern-era transformer at about half power. OK, that's all from me for now. Again, I greatly appreciate the welcome and look forward to learning more from you all. Thanks!

The attachments seem to have uploaded out of order, so please ignore my numbering scheme. Sorry about that!

That’s is a very fun layout. I love how you combined the legos and the trains. I’ve done some of that and plan to do more when I work on the next layout. I’ve only got a an 8x4 layout today with a second level. I’ve got some of my daughter’s legos in it but there isn’t enough room for all of the pieces we want to add.

Excellent layout and trains steamrocket! Lots of fun train running there. It doesn't matter that the photos are out of order. It's easy to figure out what's what.
