Interesting story ScaleCraft. Maybe you should have gone Naval Air. 😉 I had friends in the submarine service during my Navy days who had 20/20 vision going in. But after a couple of sub deployments, they ended up needing glasses. 😳

Them's the breaks of Naval Air...commonly referred to as Air Brakes.
As long as y'all and the Air Force types understand...there are more aircraft in the ocean than there are Submarines in the Sky.
And for the surface puk....errr....sailors, there are only two kinds of ships. Submarines and targets.
I never needed glasses other than tired night driving until I had been OUT almost 30 years.

I love it!! Funny story SCALECRAFT. I used to say " MADE IN THE USA" and later, "MADE WITH RECYCLED PAPER". Always received a growl.
