I was in the basement running trains. I decided to go up stairs to tell my wife something. When got to the door there was a bumblebee flying around a light right by the door. I know nothing about bees so I moved cautiously.
I grabbed a empty Scenic Express container and was going to wait for it to settle down so I could trap it in the container. It seemed to get agitated so I stepped back and tripped over my feet and hit the hard concrete floor with a thud. At 63 and damaged from a motorcycle accident it hurt.
I pulled myself together and managed to trap the bee and released it outside. I try not to kill bees because we need them. Plus I had nothing to swat it with. How it even got in the basement is beyond me.

Ouch! Hope you are OK Denny.
We have bees and wasps. Bees have my respect, some wasp varieties, however, have my ire! Been stung multiple times by a tiny variety of ground wasp (actually a yellow jacket). Too small to see them coming. Nasty little buggers!

You did good Denny, but be careful. Bones are brittle as we get older.

When we had a storage unit, I was stung on my ear by a Yellow Jacket while I was pulling the door down. The worst was when a nest of Fire Ants got on my foot.

Sorry to hear all this Denny. So glad you are not badly injured. Last thing we need is to get hurt or stung.

Good thing you didn’t do any serious damage to yourself. Falls are rough especially when you are older.
You were doing a good thing, trying to save a bee rather than kill it. Good karma for you, despite the fall.
We have lots of bees around the house this time of year. Bumble bees, carpenter bees and yellow jackets. I have no problem disposing of yellow jackets, but everything else, we leave alone...as long as they don’t cause damage...

Glad your ok. I have alot of bumble bees around my yard I can mow grass beside them won't bother me even the weed wacker doesn't bother them they will buzz up to me and look at me face to face say hi and fly off.now the yellow jackets there not friendly so when there mean they get killed.Down at my mothers house she has a honey bee keeper has a bunch of hives down there I can walk around them as long as I don't show any aggression I thought that was pretty cool have a couple hundred bees flying around me and they just left me alone.Cause I would not have liked the outcome if they would have stung me. So glad your ok and didn't break anything or any sprains.

I'm glad you survived the fall, Denny, and also saved the bee. Falling is not recommended for senior citizens like us.

Lucky you didn't break a bone! Going to the Hospital right now for any reason is a risky undertaking. Glad you're OK.
