Did anyone hear my dog barking just before the 5 minute mark? Cracked me up and I wasn't going to do the scene again. LOL

There is another solution. I have that 2003 set (sold the engines a couple of years ago). I was running them mixed with a newer set with the 2003 at the rear of the train. The cars in the middle were stringlining on a graded curve. An investigation revealed that the trucks on the 2003 set did not roll well at all and were creating a huge drag. Replaced them with the same trucks from the newer set which rolled freely. I can get you that part number, if you are interested. The newer trucks look better, too. BTW, I was not being critical, just curious. Fab, I have noticed this problem. Spent a lot of time reconfiguring track components to compensate for the issue. Please post that part number here and where you were able to order them. Thanks again. Wood, I fear I have misled you. The balky trucks were on the 2000 SF Anniversary set. I replaced them with trucks from the 2003 set.

Fab, I wish you had told me this 10 years ago. I had that same anniversary set and had huge problems with the trucks. Kept trying to doctor the trucks and track. Nice appearing cars but one of my big disappointments on a purchase. Never thought to replace the trucks. They are sitting in my junk pile.

My bad, Wood. Can you save them. I got the replacement from Lionel. Pretty sure the part number is 6309134100. I love those full vista domes.

Wood, excellent job on the video. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The two trains are fabulous as is your layout.
I also noticed the AAB locos and wondered why you ran them that way. Could you run the set with the dummy A in the lead with the powered B and then the powered A to get an ABA configuration? As a toy train guy the ABA looks much better to my eyes than the AAB setup though the real railroads probably weren't as concerned with the order and ran them any way they went together easily.

Joe, Yes I could do that, it would work great. The only problem is the powered A does not have a rear electronic coupler and I would not be able to couple and uncouple unless I used my hands. They call that a hand job. Opps. LOL It was purchased as an AA set and lionel did not put rear electronic couplers on the lead A unit. I am going to run it as an ABB set with one unpowered B in the middle.
