Where’s the Biden engine? One that forgets where it is and occasionally derails. 😂. OMG, that's funny!!! Wait, a locomotive that forgets where it is? Wouldn't that be DCS? George LOL, I forgot to add, likes to touch cabooses or gondolas in weird and uncomfortable ways.

There are two new Boeing 747-8 aircraft being built for the U.S. AIR FORCE to be used for Presidential Transportation. It looks like the VC-25B aircraft will have a newly redesigned paint scheme. In 2019 the new color scheme of the new plane was shown on a model sitting on a coffee table in the Oval Office. I will miss the current iconic and instantly recognizable color scheme designed by Raymond Lowey and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy as the colors set this aircraft apart from any other. However, I believe the new color scheme will represent the United States as well as the current scheme. I am hoping that a red color flash will be added to the tail in the same manner as the current models have a blue color flash on the tail. As well I am hoping that the all caps Caslon lettering of "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" in gold will be carried over on SAM 30000 and SAM 31000. Below are images of the current colors and proposed new colors. Possibly the nose could be painted red where the old nose is blue. You may be asking yourselves "what does this post have to do with trains"? The answer is simple. Both Lionel and MTH have issued Presidential Engines. MTH have released Presidential Candidates Engines. Now Lionel is releasing A DONALD TRUMP 4545 version. Too bad they didn't use the new aircraft colors for it!! Would have made for a great looking loco and it would have more accurately represented him. Gary.

Those could be the last 747 to come off the production line. End of a era.

I agree, Gary, Lionel would have been smart to use the new paint scheme. The Bush version should be a testimony to that President. This appears not to be a "candidate" engine but a Presidential version.
Looks like Lionel took the course of least expense as all they have to do is to change the name and numbers. I am not supportive of this approach.

I agree... to just add some lipstick on it and change a number... it really has no appeal.

Going with the new paint scheme would have been the way to go.

I took one look and pooey on them. It seems more like a lazy money grab.
As for that other place, Im good friends with a guy who shall remain nameless but some of their bigger forum sponsors find the current leader to be gestapo like in his management. They also believe the metrics he gives them regarding exposure and readership to sell ad space are total BS. Its only a matter of time before he completely sinks his own ship. My hope is that this forum grows beyond that one in its glory days before AA took over and ruined it.

Those could be the last 747 to come off the production line. End of a era. I might be partial because those 747's were the flagship birds in the height of my corporate travel days. They were -- and arguably still are -- in a league of their own.
Back in the 1970's and 1980's, it was an entirely different era of travel... and I had many a tour of their cockpits. It was amazing to see the newer models over time, whose cockpit controls evolved to nearly all-glass control panels. The older 747's had more mechanical switches than I could ever keep track of. God bless the pilots and flight engineers of those original models.
By the mid-1980's, the upper deck on the 747 was largely in the process of being converted from its former lounge configuration of the 1970's to business-class seating for increased revenue opportunities. I'll never forget my very first flight on a 747. It was a on nonstop flight from Chicago to Hawaii, and I had a coach seat. But when I boarded, I got a quick glimpse of the first-class cabin... and I vividly recall an island fountain in the middle of the cabin for first-class passengers to enjoy a bit of bubbly champagne. Those were the days of luxury travel and the ultimate customer experience for sure. Now, it's all a memory.
Yes... the 747 will always be a sentimental favorite of mine, no matter what technology delivers in the future. It is still the PERFECT bird to proudly transport our President.

I used to interact and post on OGR quite a bit but with him running the show it's not the place for me. I knew any Trump thread was DOA. It's funny, AA mentioned almost immediately he was getting emails from "concerned" individuals. That I believe. It's amazing how much the people screaming and yelling control everything. He bent pretty quickly. I would be interested to hear the numbers he gives. Ad space is sort of my wheel house, I can get several traffic metrics of OGR.

I am sure it will all change very soon.

Why couldn’t Lionel make it in the Trump colors either red or blue. That loco is just plain dumb

Agree Matt, for many reasons I don't like the use of the engine paint scheme that the Union Pacific Railroad designed for President Bush. In my opinion, just a very bad move.
I also agree that Lionel should have used the colors of the new 747's designed to be used as the future Air Force 1's. Dark blue, vibrant red, and of course white. This would have been a much better choice.
Easy way out the way I see it.

If it wasn’t a cheap Bush train ripoff I’d be all over it but it’s really not that great

"I might be partial because those 747s were the flagship birds in the height of my corporate travel days. They were -- and arguably are -- in a league of their own."I agree and for some time, Pan American owned the Pacific with their 747s. As one of the early couriers for the DHL Corporation, I was fortunate enough to put many miles on them traveling their Pacific routes from Honolulu back in the early 1970s. They even had coach lounges. As for this other stuff, I'll restate it again: Don’t waste time on new Lionel or other forums. 😉
