Updated 11/15/2021:
Christine Braden completed her transformation of Western Pacific Alco S-2 #553 to Weirton Steel #207. Here it is along with its stable-mate, #208.
I think she did a terrific job.

Thanks RJ.
Yeah, I am aware of (and have visited) Patrick's Trains. Nice store. A lot of the MTH runs aren't that close to prototypical, unfortunately. The WHITE bobber caboose labeled for the Blast Furnace comes to mind ( white in a steel mill? ). And Weirton Steel never produced boxcars with their own road name, but Mike did bring out the 200 series of green Alco S-2 switchers (1940s-1990s) and the 300 series of black EMD SW 1500s switchers (1980s-present). Those are prototypical.
I do regret missing out on the crane car - MTH 30-79343. Don't suppose anyone has one they'd like to sell?

As Mark Twain said : " The secret of getting ahead is getting started, the secret of getting started is breaking down large overwhelming tasks into small manageable task, and starting on that first one"
I see you have mastered this skill...

As Mark Twain said : " The secret of getting ahead is getting started, the secret of getting started is breaking down large overwhelming tasks into small manageable task, and starting on that first one" I see you have mastered this skill... Thank you. Sometimes it seems that I have way too many plates in the air or I'm trying to run in waist-high mud.
The encouragement is appreciated.

I here ya... I had one DZ-1000 switch machine to install... most take an hour... This one took 4 hours... Had to completely rebuild the switch machine after it was installed.
But after that I was rewarded with 3 hours of running trains.

Updated 11/24/2021:
I have been working on roof trusses for my Weirton Steel Open Hearth. These are 30" (120 s') across.
Below are a number of partially completed bottom members of trusses. I find an assembly-line process works best for this repetitive work.
More when I know it.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Nice work as usual. That's going to be a big building.

Nice work as usual. That's going to be a big building. Yes it is. In fact, just this morning I was reviewing the plan and decided to make a few changes: - The "Lean-To" has gone from 7" wide to 8" wide. This provides more space for electronics, smoke units, and other components needed to run the animation. It is also a bit taller to allow the smokestacks to extend higher relative to the height of the main building.
- Total building width has gone from 36" to 38". We are constrained by the width of the stairwell to the basement. The length will remain at 68". And of course, as the size increases so will the weight. It's likely that safely moving the building will take 2 people.
- The main building has gone from 12" high to 15" high. This gives a bit more space for the cranes and makes the interior look more prototypical (i.e. huge). Total building height is now 26" or 104 s'.
Here's the new end view plan. I still need to modify the Charging Floor and the Pouring Floor plans.
More when I know it.

Updated 12/2/2021:
More truss work. I'm putting "C" channels on the outsides of the roof truss bottoms.

Updated 12/11/2021:
I have finished 10 of the 11 outer column assemblies for the Open Hearth (pictured below). I ran out of gussets.
Each outer "H" column is 15" (60 s') tall while the inner "H" column is 11.25" (45 s') high. The top of inner "H" column will support a crane rail.
More when I know it.

Updated 12/12/2021: I had the columns and one of the roof trusses so I thought I'd do a test fit and take a photo.
I must say that even I am surprised at how large this building will be when completed.
