Y6B Favorite to Win ChampionshipThe mighty Norfolk and Western Y6B cruised into the finals with an easy victory over the plastic Rocky Mountaineer that had to rely on questionable last second shenanigans to beat two small time opponents. When matched against the steel of an Eastern Norfolk and Western Roanoke built behemoth, it was no contest.Almost every creditable model railroad has one or more Y6Bs in places of honor on the layout. Be it the JLC or the Legacy edition, Lionel has created an engine that excites the spirit as it pulls 250 coal cars from the hollows of West Virginia to Lambert’s Point in Norfolk.Tomorrow you will have the opportunity to recognize this fabulous engine which has been placed against a west coast steamer that can’t pull its weight up Christiansburg Mountain and relies on white wall tires to enable it to be seen.Vote for the Y6B... Vote early and often

Thank ypu so much Bill for postying the photos of the Y6B. It draws a clear comparison to the stunning ATSF 3000. Beauty contest, yes it is. And, the photos clearly show there is no comparison. The ATSF 3000 just blows away ALL comers.
Vote ATSF 3000 TODAY.

It's Official! The Lionel Norfolk & Western 2-8-8-2 Y6B is the 2020 O-Gauge Forum Train Tournament Champion!Thank you to everyone who participated. From the Nomination process right on through to Championship Sunday, the contributions of the OGF Members turned a simple idea into two weeks of fun. It’s taken us from Winter to Spring and I hope we can do it all over again next year! Congratulations George(Laz57) and R.J.(RJ3rail)! Our 2020 Co-Champions will receive a special prize in the mail. Also, as the Tournament “Anchorman”, Adam (Adam) will also receive a special prize in the mail. Additionally, everyone who participated in the bracket contest will receive two OGF York Badge Holders. Wow, as the biggest loser, I mean Anchorman, I am honored! If someone said at the beginning that there would be a prize for last place I would not have tried so hard to pick winners!
Emile, a heartfelt thank you for running this for us. It was an incredible amount of fun!

Emile thanks so much for all the hard work that you put into this. It was a lot of fun, especially since it was the only Final Four available.
N an W Y6B, who would have thought with the competition.
Congratulations to the winners. Everyone did great.

Thanks for the idea and carrying the Adirondack load (autocorrect converted that from “admin load”)! Great fun.

It was a lot of fun and the Y6B is a worthy Champion. Anyone who has one knows that’s the equal of any Vision Line product out there and has high quality on par with 3rd Rail offerings. We had 15 different matches with 10 going into overtime.

The venerable Y6b has always been one of my favorite Lionel steamers. And it's a worthy part of the N&W triumvirate that also includes the "J" and the articulated "A". I snagged the latest Lionel Legacy Y6b offering from Charlie Ro several years ago, before prices of articulated locos shot up into the stratosphere. It has VisionLine quality details without today's hefty VisionLine prices. I just miss the roadname/roadnumber-specific TowerCom and CrewTalk. Not being an official VisionLine product gives it less than first-class RailSounds treatment in that regard, as Lionel continues to cut corners with its regular product line offerings nowadays. But aside from that, the Y6b is one finely detailed steamer.
