firewood, PTC, and Country Joe - thank you!! Mark - thank you too! I've seen pictures of what you're doing and it seems to be coming along really well. Everything looks nice and square! My compliments on your carpentry skills. I have been working a little at a time on landscaping the one side. I'm currently on hold waiting for some more scenery supplies to be delivered. So far, so good. It's not going to work out quite as well as I'd hoped, but it'll be presentable.

Zeke - like the ballasted bridge - who makes the ballast?

Thanks guys! After I got it shaped I realized it kind of looked like a tennis shoe. So, it shall hereafter be known as Tennis Shoe Rock.
JDaddy - that is Brennan's grey blend. To weather it, I dumped it into a plastic bin and mixed in a little Dark Soil pigment powder from Scenery Express. That powder is something! A little bit goes a lot further than you think. The dark soil on either side is terrain sand (I think that's what they call it) that I picked up at Petco. It's supposed to be used in reptile habitats, but I've started using it as a landscaping base.

Been working on this between other projects and it's finally done. I may add a few more bushes and trees later. I cut a small piece of styrene and glued it to the lift-up section so it covered the space between the lift-up and the base sections. Sprinkled on some dirt and ground cover and planted some bushes and everything blends in pretty nicely when it's closed. The small area at the end was flat, so I took a few pieces of low-loft batting and glued them down just to create a little unevenness. Painted the area and sprinkled with turf and planted some more bushes. Now, I have to do the other side. However, that's on hold as I am anxious to finalize the lower loop and get that wired up. I hope to be able to run two trains pretty soon.

Sean, you did a great job on the lift up section. The scenery looks great. You'd never know it's a lift up section.👍

Brian, RJ, & Joe - thank you!
I had to get some more wire and terminal blocks, but another hurdle was cleared and the lower loop is wired up! Shot a quick video with the Railking Imperial J on the top and the Pre-War Flying Yankee on the bottom. Good times!
