I have a question about the century club GG1. Does it have a 9 volt battery in it??
If it does is it a lithium battery or a rechargeable battery.

There is a connection for a standard 9 Volt battery. The engine itself does not have a charging circuit but there is an aftermarket product available from Henning's Trains. Otherwise you can just put an Alkaline Battery in it.
Interestingly enough, for some reason Lionel put the battery in these when they were manufactured. I don't use a battery since I am running it in command always. The only thing the battery does in Lionel engines is keep the sound circuit powered during track power interruptions such as cycling between F-N-R-N-F.
