I just saw this on the history channel!!
Did you know that Camels do not store water in their humps, they drink up to 30 gallons of water when thirsty and humps store nutritional needs. In my 77 years I apparently I was always wrong on this assumption.

We spent some time at Death Valley. One day I decided to drink a lot of water, I mean a lot. I was young and thought I could store it, but my bladder had different ideas and poured it out.

In a related myth I pose the following.
Where do elephants hide?
In cherry trees.
In cherry trees?!
Yes; did you ever see an elephant in a cheery tree?
No.
See, it works.

Related: Why should you stay out of the forest between two and four o'clock in the afternoon? Because that's when the elephants jump down out of the trees. Why are pygmies so short? Because they go into the forest between two and four o'clock in the afternoon.

Since camel humps 🐪 🐫 are not a normal conversation topic I don’t know how I found out that this childhood belief wasn’t true.

Ok, if we're going to go there then how about the Winston cigarette ad parody we used to chant when I was a kid?
Winston's taste bad Like the one I just had No filter, no flavor Just cotton pickin' paper
...and then there is the very old railroad joke
A lady was sitting on a seat in coach next to a man who was tearing up a newspaper. When he finished tearing it into small pieces he opened the window and began tossing the pieces out one at a time. Part way through this the lady asked him what he was doing. He responded, "Tossing small pieces of paper out the window drives away all of the elephants." She said, "But there aren't any elephants." He said, "Effective, isn't it."
