harmonyards, welcome to the OGF. I am originally from NYC and your handle reminds me of the yards and maintenance facility at Harmon, the end of the electrified track to GCT, and the Croton-on-Hudson station. Tell us about your trains, train hobby interests / activities. Alfred

My grandfather was a mechanic at Harmon. He was qualified steam & electric. He was well adapt repairing steam & electrics. Hence the love for Harmon & Croton, …..I model Harmon with the emphasis on the steam servicing facilities….I’m a 3-railer, but I model 3RS, you could say I’m a 2 railer trapped in a 3 railer’s body ……my layout is 18’X30’ with plenty of action switching electrics and steam out for the trips into & out of the city. The next frontier for me ( and some of my close NYC partners in crime ) is chassis swapping 2 rail brass locomotives to 3 rail. ….this gives us the opportunity to build certain locomotives we’re likely never to see produced given the current landscape of our hobby,…..I’m on the verge of my second retirement from my day job, and looking forward to full time ( well almost full time ) custom locomotive work and repairs.
