Anyone here get their Lionel Base3. Have not seen any postings. I did read about some issues with the app on another forum but so far the comments have been positive.

My current plan is to sit back, relax, and let the early adopters work through the typical kinks and bugs of new firmware.
In my younger years, I’d be all over this already. But those years are in the rear view mirror.
I stopped by Henning’s Trains yesterday and could have purchased one that wasn’t spoken for yet. But I resisted. For now I’m happy with my current configuration. But eventually I’ll put my toes in the water.

To be honest, I haven't seen a reason for me to buy one. The systems I have work good and do everything I need for it to do. Money saved can go for more trains.

I have set up by Base -3 and I am operating it with a CAB-1L. It was easy to set up and right now I am running a Legacy locomotive and a TMCC locomotive with no problems.

Only when my cab two shits the bed and not a moment before Gary, why do you have your Cab2 in bed? Some people *really* love their command control systems, I guess . . .

I’m really impressed with how quickly folks are playing with the new Base3. There’s no doubt we live in a new world today, where the young crowd is as comfortable with apps, firmware updates and YouTube video productions as we old-timers are with starting a car.
Case in point… I stumbled across Sean’s YouTube video he just produced on the Base3. It’s excellent — especially for folks who learn by seeing and listening as opposed to reading a manual or quick-start guide. Bottom line: he got things “working”, but it sounds like some useful features — like transferring your entire roster of locomotives from your current Legacy Base to the new Base3 — might not be available until September.
Again… I’m glad the early adopters are playing with this stuff already. And in my younger days, I’d be right there with them. But the new generation is doing just fine. And they have a knack of producing a YouTube video, before I even drive to the train store to buy this newfangled thing. Simply amazing. But I’ll be there eventually.
For your convenience, here’s a link to Sean’s video — which at the time of my post here, has already been seen by over 1,700 viewers in just about 12 hours. A new world indeed.
