Sold out in about a week. There is a guy on the Menards Trains facebook page operating the switches with his phone using the MTH DCS App.

I was once enthusiastic about these but the modules are a little unreliable.

If I had a larger layout I would have ordered the switches. The moron on the other forum has no idea what he was talking about. More people use tubular than all the other track systems combined. That came from a article about 10 years ago. Its most likely less now but its still up there of what people use.

Here is a video from Eric's Trains about the new Menard's switches. www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hg6EUWjBIwApparently Menard's feels there is a market for tubular track or they would not have invested the money to have these switches made. I think they sell a lot of o gauge tubular track

Is this normal?

When I use to run on tubular with K-Line & Lionel 042 switches many years ago, the Lionel switches were a tad bumpy, K-Line was a tad better than Lionel. Never really had any issues with either version.

I have been trying to reach out to Menards to find out if they will have more 072 switch back in stock. I still have heard back from them, anyone else have better luck or when they will have them available.

Most likely next year you may see some new switches unless they ordered some for the end of this year. My bet you will see them next year.

I did hear back from Menards and they did sell out the first run of 072 switch track. They did say that they are working on a second run and with will be adding 031 switch with the 072 switch track. My guess they won't have them available until the new year.

New question? Since the Menards 072 switch track are now on back order for some time I found I can get Lionel 072 switch track at some online stores. What I am looking to do is to make a cross over using 2 pairs of 072 switch track and a 45 degree crossing. Has anyone else done this before? I did find a video where a guy did it using Lionel Fast Track. But I am looking to do the same thing using Lionel Tubular track. I believe it should still work. Welcome to hear any feed back.
