Here's the link again for photos of the real #9 and her identical sisters #5 and #8: whippanyrailwaymuseum.net/virginia-blue-ridge-railway/6/ I would normally have clearcoated the boiler to be just slightly more satin, but since I didn't have to repaint the whole thing I chose to leave it as is. I did mask it off and spray the running boards with a flat coat to seal in the yellow stripes. Like I said at the beginning, the object here was to get "pretty close", and I'm happy with it. These Legacy 0-6-0s also run extremely slow and smooth, and I admit having a lot of fun with he swinging bell!
