Happy Fathers Day. I actually bought myself some train items yesterday. Didn't buy anything for Fathers Day, but did make some progress on the Cambridge train station project by cutting out the wall blanks from basswood:  Next steps: beveling the edges, cutting the basswood roof, then adding laser cut windows/doors (due to be delivered Monday), texture files, structural details, and painting, plus creating an interior and adding lighting. Never a dull moment . . .

To follow up: my scratch built model of the Cambridge train station is finally done:  The station is illuminated with some 28 small warm white LEDs, and each window and door is backed by an illuminated shadowbox that displays a picture taken in the prototype structure, which has been nicely renovated with touches from its railroad past. The net effect is a pretty compelling simulation of looking into the actual openings (without having to actually do all that pesky interior modelling!  ):
