I am in need of about 35 straight track sections - manufactured by Lionel during the post war period. I am building a new layout and am using track from my original layout - so I want it to 'match' - not to mention that it may be cheaper for this than other manufacturers or what Lionel was making after the post war period. I am puzzled that I need this additional track; I thought I had enough - I don't think I misplased a box during our move. If you have some available, or know where to get some, I would appreciate knowing. I don't want to deal on eBay, unless there is an reputable seller / can find good track. Thank you. Alfred my layout

If you are not focused "Lionel Only", there's the Menards alternative. Here's the set I bought from USA, given there's nothing like that in France, nor in Europe : No complaint about the quality... OACE

oace, thank you. I am sure about the quality from Menards; however, I am stuck in the mud so to speak about wanting to use the 1950s stock. Alfred (Old Man Running Old Trains)

Bob, thanks for looking out for sellers of 1950s track. I don't get to train shows/ swaps. Since I am blind now, I can't see the images on eBay, etc. Even though I am blind, I operate my computer nonvisually with speech-enabled software and use all the applications. I maintain and operate my layout by using assistive/ adaptive technology. For example, I use a speech-enabled multimeter, I don't solder - I crimp, I have sound-making accessories positioned around the layout so that I can locate trains, I know routes by sensing the heat on bulbs on the O22 switch controllers, I do mechanical work by touch. I recently took down my 8' x 22' layout and need the track for another. I have all sorts of work arounds to do measuring while I am constructing my new benchwork. Sorry about the long-winded response. By knowing this it is understandable that when I respond to videos, I focus on the sounds. And lastly, I actually take my own photos/ videos to post; it is with a speech-enabled phone and locating objects by sound reckoning. Alfred

oace, no problem regarding the images. In most cases, I can figure out what is going on by the context; also, the accompanying text is enough for me to know about the image. No apologies necessary. The smell of the smoke and sound of the wheels are enough for me - life is good. Alfred

I may have found a source for post war Lionel track. The reviews seem OK. I will give them a call and ask about their track - which they recondition. They also redo transformers and switches with upgrades. Alfred tinman3rail.com

Yes, tinman3rail has reconditioned Lionel track. I send him track that my club receives with donations. I have had health issues so I have not been active on the forums. I know I have track in my spare garage but I need to go through the boxes to see what I have, 0 or 027.

Don, thanks for your reply. I don't really need refurbished track or the higher expense (from tinman3). I hope your health gets better. If you find an opportunity, would you take a look at your track and consider selling some? Thank you. I am in need of about 30 - 40 O31 10" straights, and bout 24 O72 radius curves. Alfred

Don, Don't hurt yourself. I can use them; however, it is not an emergency. Take care of yourself first. Alfred Thank you.
