This is the 'road to nowhere' that the Talking Heads were singing about perhaps?
But that said Kudos for the ingenuity of harborbelt70 for his inspired interiors.
The gray couple are likely transitioning to Kind of Blue for you Miles Davis jazz fans.

This is the 'road to nowhere' that the Talking Heads were singing about perhaps? But that said Kudos for the ingenuity of harborbelt70 for his inspired interiors. The gray couple are likely transitioning to Kind of Blue for you Miles Davis jazz fans. Thanks to both you and Traindiesel! a.k.a. Brian for your inspiring insights. The truth however is much more mundane - those are two unpainted Railking figures that I placed in the dome seating assembly with other figures of different scales just to test what could work. The Railking figures are scaled down to fit inside MTH (and Lionel) 3rail O scale interiors that are actually nearer S scale (1/64) than true O scale (1/48). From the back there is also one HO figure, which some people use in domes that are very low, some other S and smaller OO scale figures and one, the tall guy, who is Chinese O scale that is actually made for Euro O at 1/43.5. He was obviously too big so the actual population of this dome is mainly the Railking pre-painted figures:
I've never had the patience/time to paint any of the unpainted Railking figures although I have a bag of over 100 of them! They are much to be preferred to Lionel's seated passengers who all look like the Burgundy lady.

This was in the Lionel April 2024 Newsletter email. At first I thought it was an April Fools joke.
