A buddy of mine who is a train guy and a Godzilla fan stopped over to see me. We had lunch and he brought a engine he wanted to test out on my layout. It was a nice ES44AC Space force engine from Legacy station. A great looking engine and it ran great. He then pulled out part of his Godzilla collection and then I got mine out which was hilarious looking to see two 70 year old men having fun with our toys. I just received two 11" Godzillas, Kong, and scar King from the new movie. We then decided to view some older Godzilla movies.
Overall it was great seeing an old friend, checking out some of the collections we both have. Also remember your never too old to have some fun. It made me wonder what our wives and girlfriends would have said if they have seen us this afternoon.
Have some fun before its too late!!!!
Dave

What is going on there in Pennsylvania? He had them packed in a box and he only brought a few but he has been a Godzilla collector for quite awhile. Last time I was over his house he had about 150' of shelving just for his Godzilla figures plus his 20x12 layout. Btw he just lost his wife a year ago and he has been very lonely and I have been trying to cheer him up, he's doing better and talking more when we go out to lunch. He's helping me also being I live alone now and we both have the same hobbies. A very good friend!! Dave

Back in the 70’s I had a Kong and Godzilla models made by Aurora on my N scale layout. The Kong model had him carrying Faye Rae in his hand through the jungle. I removed him from the base and removed Faye from Kong’s hand and put the resulting opening in his hand around a church steeple in the city. Godzilla was descending from the mountain in the back of the layout towards the inevitable confrontation. I don’t know what ever happened to those models. I’m guessing Mom ‘relocated’ them.
I do miss our lunches at Nudy’s!

I started watching Godzilla back in the sixties ever since I saw the one with Raymond Burr.

David, you're a good friend. Too bad you guys don't live in my neck of the woods, I would invite you to run trains at the club.

There's a 3-car set of Sakai Japanese tinplate cars on Ebay right now, very similar to the commuter cars that were Godzilla's snack of choice...

Dave, no problem with having fun - never too old to be young. None the less, were you not concerned about becoming radioactive? Alfred
