Dave, I think we’ve done a pretty light-hearted job here commenting on politics as it pertains to toy train offerings. I have nothing to apologize for. If anyone was offended, that’s their problem. I agree, lighthearted humor never hurt anybody. If folks get their panties in a bunch over this,well.......😂😂 Phil, unfortunately it is 2024 after all... and someone is ALWAYS offended by SOMETHING... which is why humor and comedy have forever changed in our world. But I will have none of it. I'll still comment when appropriate, as well as do whatever I can to help keep lighthearted humor and sarcasm alive. It will be a very cold day in you-know-where, before I live in fear of "offending someone".
BTW, I did notice that this thread is now flagged, so it will eventually fall off Page 1 regardless of the posting activity. I thought we were better than that here. But I guess those who got their panties in a bunch got the ear of one of our moderators. Sadly, that's the way of the world these days. And I don't say that lightly. One of the train dealers who we'd like to hear more from starts a thread to announce a custom-run with what I'd call a VERY WELCOMED AND DESERVED "DIG", and this is the nonsense that ensues. And we wonder why dealers don't post here more often.

Meaning that those of a certain mindset (including at least the OP, the poster I responded to, and the following poster) by their *explicit statements* profess to care very little about the effect their words may have on others, and in fact often seem to relish causing distress in those who differ from them. Look, everyone is entitled to their own views, and we all are entitled to express those views in an appropriate manner. However, most of us were brought up polite enough to at least *try* to avoid needlessly offending others' sensibilities. As I said, the repeated avowed declarations by some posters in this thread to *not* care, at all, IMHO speaks volumes about them and the like-minded candidate they support. Clear enough?

What I see is that a dealer made an announcement that he is offering Trump themed locomotive. All was well and good until “some” posters started to make rather sarcastic remarks about Trump and the locomotive and then act surprised when they got some pushback. Personally, I like it when dealers come here and announce special runs and we should not give them a hard time when we they do so. |

MINE!!!!!!! NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I gave my opion of present and prior which is my right and did not try to dig in to offend anyone.
I did not care for some of the comments but didn't hurt my feelings, I honestly wonder how long this was going to go thou before someone complained or they felt enough has been said.
