Which country invented Polka music is an age olde debate. The same is true for vodka. But we all know that both were invented in Poland.

Walt, I am not going to listen to the video and get the polka music stuck in my head. As it is, I have already brought to mind at least two polka tunes that I have heard at weddings - and that was decades ago. Alfred

Being of Polish descent......this is a great thread. I kinda agree with trying not to get Polka stuck in my head, on account of attending MANY weddings and some dances as a kid. Best one was my cousin Laverne married a guy who did a heckuva Elvis impersonation....at their wedding he gets up, and sings in total Elvis style (karate moves, sweaty wiping his brow, hips wiggling) to some Polka songs. I thought people were gonna die from laughing, yet the combination kinda worked. Like watching "Dread Zeppelin" play Led Zeppelin!

This thread reminds me of my father in law. He loved Polka music. A real true Polish man. I still miss him.

I am Polish, first American born. Grew up in a large extended Polish family and it was great. Lots of love, laughter and great food. Despite the hardships my aunts and uncle had to endure during WWII they had a lot of joy in their hearts.
