Hello all I am looking to start a train club for O gauge in mid Hudson Valley in NY. There is only HO or N gauge in area.
Anyone in area interested let me know.

I would love it but am way too far away here in Southern NJ. Nothing in my area either.

If you have the Nextdoor app you might be able to find some train people local to you through that.

tctrainguy, that is great. Best wishes for success. If there is a local firehouse or mall that feature Christmas layouts, maybe you can contact them for members - or post flyers in hobby shop or other appropriate locations. Alfred

I would be interested in the club if one is started. Friday evenings and Sunday afternoon or evenings would be when I would be available. I work in northern NJ and go home on the weekends to Schenectady.

My son lives in Albany, but I don't think he has the train bug anymore. Both of his childhood sets are still here in Maryland.

My dad is a big train guy as well. I always loved working on the layout and going to shows with him. I've been out of it for the past 10 years cause of divorce and trying to get back on my feet. Just starting to get back into it. A lot has changed in 10 years.

I'm in Florida but lived in Poughkeepsie from 2001 to 2016. There was a train show in Kingston run by an O gauge guy. He might let you set up at the spring show (if this train show is still going) to canvass for members. The Poughkeepsie show in November might also be a good place to set up. A lot of O gaugers attended these shows so you would have good exposure. Since you are not selling anything they may let you set up without having to pay for a table. The Poughkeepsie show is run by the Hyde Park club.
Good luck. It would be nice to have an O gauge club in the Mid-Hudson Valley.

Hey country Joe, yes that show is still around. I attended this past November. Very small. Very little O gauge and vendors. You make a good point about reaching out to the person who runs the show. Just seems that there is very little that’s in the O gauge. HO seems more popular these days.

The last time I attended these shows in 2015 or early 2016 there was a good O gauge presence.
