I thought the group might enjoy David Argent’s videos - this gent has built many unique locomotives in 3-rail O Gauge style. Here’s a couple you don’t see in the catalogs.

When I spotted this thread my first thought - not paying enough attention to the 3rail reference, and noting that the two locos were obviously not American prototypes - is that the guy must be into Euro O scale, which is 1:43.5. That's wrong as his models run on standard US 3rail track. I have only looked at one of his other videos but it concerns a cab forward, which is one of my favorite types, apparently built out of American Flyer parts. This is a pretty unique niche and I agree his skills are enviable:
