I don’t have as many model cars as, say Brian (but then who does?), but I have started becoming more interested in adding some.
I tend to migrate toward models of cars that my father and uncles had growing up.
What influences your model car choices?

Like other things, I like models of cars from 1950s and earlier. Maybe that is because I was born in the mid ‘50s, so they had to be on the road before my first memory; I don’t know. Secondary would be certain cars from the ‘60s.

I concentrate heavily on 50's models. The model itself is what sells me on it.

Pink. I like pink. Plain pink, oyster white and pink, dark pink, silver and pink, pale pink, two tone pink, pink Cadillac, pink Dodge, pink Chevy, Oldsmobile pink, pink Pontiac.
If it is in Brooklin’s Pink Collection, we have one or it is on order.
Pink is Peautiful.

Pink... but when it was time for the nicest car to be entered in the OGF Model Car Contest, you took my 1937 Studebaker (not that it did any good).
So I entered an oyster white and pink Cadillac only to find that Logan and Austin entered their truck and won.

I like GM's generally, although I do like mustangs and t-birds. I'll probably be purchasing a few from the sixties and hopefully they come out with more from the seventies.

My youngest loved that book and book series (we stil have all of them). I had Pinkalicious memorized at one point. Regular nighttime book read for her. I miss those days.

I like some of the odd and unusual. Sometimes it could be the color that hooks me. Maybe even pink. Lol I'm a sucker for 60's and 70's muscle cars.

When I was buying cars to fill my streets and parking lots I bought whatever was available that fit my plan and caught my eye. I don't need cars now so I'm much more discriminating. One car I would make room for is a 1949 green DeSoto like my parents had or a 1959 blue and white Chevy Belair with horizontal fins, the car I learned to drive on.

There are many motivating factors.
1. good looks 2. rare factor for serious collectors 3. you had the model 4. your parents had the model 5. attracted by the color 6. attracted by a particular model 7. attracted by a particular manufacturer 8. the right model for a particular scene on your layout. 9. you collect Club Models 10. and I am sure there are more

I like the 50's especially the multi paint color schemes. Although there is one car made that I would like to see Brooklin make, a 1970 Mustang Mach 1. The first car I ever owned!!
