He makes a living on videos of new trains. So I can see needing to thin the heard for future purchases. I have a slightly different theory, which anecdotal evidence proves correct. Namely... the importers have inflated prices so badly, that enthusiasts are forced to sell existing roster items to mitigate the purchase price of the new goodies that catch their eye.
Bottom line: the net cash price paid for the new item is what the price SHOULD HAVE BEEN in the first place. But now the buyer needs to roll in the proceeds of a sold item to "afford" the new purchase.
It's all an addictive disease. But the importers know exactly what they're doing, while they grin ear-to-ear all the way to the bank.

Nobody makes a living thru YouTube except who ever owns YouTube!! Dave Yeah but I bet he makes enough to offset the purchase price of lot of those engines and the inflated prices of is Trainz sale didn't hurt either. he has over 51,000 subscribers, he's doing ok.

Well maybe not should of thought that one through but he's making enough for all those engines and that's what a really meant. Lots of videos on how much you can make on Youtube. Worth a watch if you have the time.

Guys like Chris and Jason put a lot of work into making high quality videos. They are producing content that a lot of people want to see so they have lots of subscribers and lots of viewers. YouTube makes money on their videos and passes some of it along to them and guys like them. How is this anybody’s business other than the content creators and YouTube? Whether they make a lot of money or only a little, how is anyone else harmed?
As I read through these posts I get the impression that some are jealous of the success of Chris and others like him. Some have questioned their motives, but does it matter why they produce their videos? What they are doing is good for the hobby. If they reap some rewards, whether large or small, they earned them.
Why are some questioning what these guys do? If anyone doesn’t like their content don’t watch, subscribe to or like their videos.

I bought Chris' Vision Line Class A. I think it is cool that he's giving his followers a chance to own pieces of his collection. Matter of fact, he's happy that people like me are enjoying the models he once enjoyed before. I'm currently going thru changing lots of my collection out and this was something I was looking for off and on.

I wish I could've gone to York. I bought it from the website. I paid a fair price in my opinion, but the taxes were disgusting. I am happy the shipping was free.

Honestly looking at the TRAINZ auction website nearly everything that I was interested that I saw at York has been sold on the auction site. Yes, it was higher than I would want to pay but it did move.
