Do you, have you, or do you plan to, use natural materials on your layout? For example, soil, water, rocks, wood, etc., to enhance/ make more realistic, terrain, scenery, structures? In what ways?

I gave this some thought, and I don't think I use any.

I forgot that I believe there is a fair amount of blood, sweat and tears on parts of the layout. And don't forget the dog hair. The dog owners out there will understand.

If cats count, one of my cats coughed up an all natural hairball on the layout. I told them I’m not ready for scenery yet!!

No cats are allowed in train room. I did have one cat I allowed in train room in a different house, She use to climb up on the table and go under the second level ( a 4' x 8' area ) and lay there and watch the trains, she would clear out the spider webs, as she is solid black and would come out with spider webs on her.

I have a rock on the layout. It was a prop in a church service and I saved it so I could remember the sermon but, of course, I don't remember what the sermon was about but I know it was good. It was a number of years ago. Oh well. 🤷♂️
