Looking for someone to repair my 1663 prewar switcher. I believe the problem is with the e-unit.

East or West Coast? North or South? I use Just Trains of Delaware. Very Happy with whoever is doing his work. I know he sends repairs out.
Also someone recommended John's Train Shop. John Wieczoreck. By appointment only. In North NJ I have phone Number if you want it.

I mailed it out today to Michael Mazzocco in Ct. I believe he is good at fixing pre and postwar trains. He is the one at the top of the forum page. Just Trains never got back to me.

Let us know how your repair turns out, and if you were correct being the e-unit.

Eddie, This info is late in coming; however, it may be of use to you or others at a later date. I have not had repairs done by the following; however, I have spoken with them for repair and equipment guidance, and I believe that they are reputable (for both pre- and post war). Jim Piekunka (Indiana), traintenderjim.com. Also, Dr. Tinker (the notable, Dave Laughridge, Massachusetts) at drtinkertrains.com. He is older now; however he may have an active staff who do repairs. I use a local Baltimore man, Brian Kirsch. He has done many and varied repairs reliably (including E-Units) for me. I can give you his phone number in the message area; although, if you call M. B. Kleine in Baltimore (modeltrainstuff.com), they will also give it to you. Here is a Baltimore Sun story about him from about 13 years ago. www.baltimoresun.com/maryland/bs-xpm-2010-12-24-bs-md-electric-train-repairs-20101222-story.html I found him by a web search when I needed repair assistance. Ironically, he lived only a few blocks from me; however he moved, so my wife has to drive me the 30 minutes to drop off and pick up items. Alfred

Eddie
Sorry to hear Pete never got back to you.
In the thread titled Best new repairs or something like that on the main page is a guy listed.
Michael Mazzocco MDM Service.Net (860)620-3707
I know nothing about him but I believe PTC said he was in Connecticut. Is he the one you sent it to?
Let us know how it works out.

does your 1663 have magic electrol or teledyne coupling ?
The 1663 usually came in outfit #1061 1940/41 or #1136 1942 two train combination sets If it has magic electrol you can run two trains on the same track

I also can vouch for Brian Kirsch as I had used him extensively, With that said I have not needed his help in many years, I've been lucky lol.
