It does not seem possible, but it was just two years ago when our Design Team (Adam, Elizabeth, & me) got together and started the OGF Engine Project. We had the initial crazy idea of something hot and the flames evolved. It was not long before Adam had a workable drawing that we supplied to our top-notch decal designer and this this project was off and running. Lionel was our first obstacle when they greatly increased their price estimate to us long after the time we could make a price change to our members. I had been a long time Lionel supporter, but that changed with this deplorable decision. My long-time business probably meant nothing to them, but I have not added a Lionel product since. lig I had to then contact MTH who came through for us with a replacement. We would have to decorate the engines, but it was a solution. We owe a big thank you to MTH for helping us come up with a solution to finish this project. Then, who I thought was along a longtime friend in the hobby, quit the redecorating part of the project suddenly as he wanted more money per unit after what he agreed on. Soon thereafter, I found a Master Painter who took this project over abd cretead a better product. We had issues for sure, but we got this project done despite all that was thrown at us. Maybe, when you look at what we have gone through to get this engine to our members, those of us who are involved can tke a good deal of pride in it. Adam, super design work. Elizabeth for her designs. Emile for handling all the financial issues.

I never thought I would be a part of a completely new and unique design. What an experience! So much fun collaborating with Brian and Emily. My engine sits proudly on a shelf in my office/hamshack/music room/man cave. Since this is a Premier grade engine (we dont pull punches), it requires wider curves than the 031 on my layout. Someday I will have a layout to allow this engine to run. For now, I am happy to look at it on shelf.

A lot of work and thought went into this and an unbelievable master piece was produced exclusively for OGF Members. I surely would have gotten one if it had been in my Era. But sadly 1955 is a cut off year for acquiring engines and rolling stock.

Adam made this project a whole lot of fun to work on. It is iconic and probably the best O-Gauge Club Engine ever produced.
When you have such a good team at the OGF, we can do what others would never attempt.
I am excited and so proud of this engine.

The OGF ES44 Premier locomotive turned out really nice. Great and persistent work by the OGF team! It’ll look great hauling the OGF rolling stock.
Speaking of rolling stock, any news or updates about the flat cars with trailers? It’s been quiet about them for a while now.

After giving the matter a lot of serious thought where to place our OGF Engine and matching OGF Train, I have come to conclusion that it needs to be shown off on our layout. The OGF Engine is SOOOOO good it needs to be showcased. Add to the engine the gorgeous matching PUP Trailers and this train will have some serious POP. I am adding several PUP trailers to this consist. Rocky Mountaineer David has the same idea.
This train will run on track 2 as part of the CIC layout.
