Here is the 402 engine, it will get rewired with correct wire also during overhaul

Here is the 418 Pullman car, the four brass steps are missing as they are still in the polishing area.

Here is the 419 combination car, It has it's 4 brass steps already polish

Finally the observation car, it's 2 steps are also in polishing area. The triangle pieces you see are for holding the couplers on, the is a small round piece that goes between the car and the triangle piece which can be a bear to get together correctly and fasten to the car.
I have no plans redoing the inserts with the seats as they look god as they are.

The 1923 and 1924 had 4 wheel trucks in 1925 though 1929 the sets came with 6 wheel trucks. 1929 last year for set 403E,1927 was last year for the 402, 1929 for the 402E, the cars where made until 1932. I have the first year of this set 403 and then a set with 6 wheels truck 1925 - 1929 403E

Would like to learn/see more about the inserts and seats because these look like items I have fabricated from scratch in O scale passenger cars. What are the inserts intended to represent? They look like green wallpaper but maybe there's a particular pattern printed on them.

The green inserts go at the top 1/4 of the window simulate window shades they also have them in the roof section in the windows below them is clear plastic. Which I will have to fabricate. If you look at the first car's roof you can see like vents in the roof, this same inserts go in there also. I have a friend is going to teach me how to make them, he does a great job on them

I'll try and get some my other 403 set that is about 95 - 97 years old and post them, I still need to do the window and roofs in them.

for it's age it's not bad looking, this set was built between 1925 and 1927. This set I plan to leave as is.

Very good project. You need to find a period house/ museum to showcase your sets and add to their presentations. Alfred

Suppose to get my 402 that my friend has worked on for me in TN. I've never seen this one in person, it was bought as a project engine. Wheels needed replacing and one coupler. I have 3 I'm taking to friend about 1 1/2 hrs away Tuesday, 1 just needs new brushes, another needs a brush spring back in and brushes and put back together, ( I basically rewired it last night ) and the last one needs completely rewired and new wheels, plus check things like brushes and all. I have one more on a shelf which is complete and fine with it's original passenger cars, That gives me a total of 5. one is getting repainted as is it's passenger cars. They are really rough as in lost of paint. I have learned a lot since getting these, there is two different periods for the passenger cars the first period was 1923/24 they had 4 wheel trucks ( this is the set I'm repainting) the next period was 1925-1927, these had 6 wheel trucks.
Yes I have 5 of them, 2 will probably go up for sale once they have been completely gone over so I know they are ready to go to there next home of love.
