WELCOME TO OUR D56 CLUB MEMBERS!!!In an effort to reduce forum maintenance efforts (we are managed by members) and to create a greater sense of community, we have merged the www.d56club.com forum together with its sister forum, o-gaugeforum.com. We believe that you will find a lot to enjoy here. Collectors and modelers of trains, cars and buildings have very similar interests and many of us collect items from all three categories.
For security reasons we require anyone who was a D56 Club Member to reapply for membership.
When you register (link on the right of the menu bar), within one day you will receive an email asking you about your collection. Simply reply indicating that you are a D56 Club member and you will be granted membership. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we believe this is the best approach to making sure we are careful with our members information.

New member just checking in to say "Hi" to this community. Are there any villaging railroad fans that have a display year 'round or are most fans here seasonally?
Also, what time frame do you display? I'm in the 1880s with an On30 4-4-0. (Dickens village mostly)
Is it OK to be here with narrow gauge? I didn't notice others, and don't mean to be intruding.
Seems like a nice place here - big enough to be interesting, small enough to be more friendly.

PTC/PTC2 (Brian), The Big Crabcake (Emile) and David1 (Dave) are three that come to mind. I think all three primarily use the Christmas in the City series but I’m not 100% sure.
It’s fine to use narrow gauge in your village or to just be a villager without trains.
We are a friendly bunch so jump right in. We’d love to see pictures of your village.

Thanks for the reply. Glad I'm not out of place here. I look forward to a lot of new information here. By the way, I have added OGF as a preferred link on my website's "Forums & Links" page. www.TheVillageCollector.com. hope it helps.

More than welcome - we're all one community. Glad to see another site "inclusive" instead of "exclusive". As someone who says "I really don't know how many rivets are supposed to be in this boiler - just tell me how it looks." Glad to be here. If one grows, we all grow. Bill

Yes I have Dept 56 and my layout is year round Christmas, its 5x13, not real big but I have about 30-40 buildings of CIC, snow village and some Lemax. I am in the midst of rearranging a good part to make it look better and to increase the depth. I'll be adding about 5 more buildings by the time I'm done. I try to redo a section every year, to change things up and to try different things.
It let's me to be creative and at this time in my life to have fun. Been a villager most of my life so I have a ton of buildings to choose from when I make changes.
I'll post pictures when I get things back together again,
Dave

5X13 isn't small to me, but I know some here have layouts bigger than my house. Sounds perfect.
I look forward to your photos. How about a few shots of "work in progress"?
