I went to Roundhouse South Electric Trains yesterday and bought this Railking Conrail 50’ boxcar. I don’t have enough contemporary rolling stock for when I’m running modern era trains so this boxcar is a welcome addition.

Sharp boxcar Joe. I don’t know how you walked out of that place with only a boxcar.

Fun Joe, and you got to finally see what you bought.

Does a pre-order count as a recent purchase? As far as I know this model of the infamous Billups crossing in Mississippi has not been made yet - or indeed ever made in any other scale - and there is only the Lionel catalog illustration to go by:
I think this is a reasonable representation of the original - at least by Lionel operating accessory standards:
And this is the only item in the last Lionel catalog that interested me at all. P.S. I hope to be happily surprised that this works better than any other Fastrak accessory that I have ever had.

The crossing gate is pretty cool. It looks like a fun accessory. 👍

Only ROW turnouts, expanding and replacing a few problematic gargraves turnouts.

I enjoy hearing about the rolling stock you all have gotten. I installed one O22 switch from a nice boxed pair that I bought about 2 weeks ago. It is the entry into a spur. Included is a UCS and a Lionel 260 Lighted Bumper that I also purchased. I have got it wired on a toggle switch. When the toggle is off, everything is dead (including the switch) with the switch in the mainline position. I have the switch on the toggle using the constant voltage plug to the track. This one switch and the spur will get its power from the track; all other layout switches are on an auxiliary transformer. I have some small parts on order. Alfred
