Nothing at all for me lately. I went on a buying spree right after christmas and should be good for a while. Of course I always have a special list of things that if I find and the price is right I will buy.

About two weeks ago, I purchased a pair of O22 switches from a local train repair guy. They were in the original box, with instructions (not unexpected - the paper was degraded, but mostly intact.) Seemed like the switches were like brand new. Tomorrow, I am going to pick up a pair that I took from my layout that needed repair - motor issues - they will go back on the layout (11th and 12th). The new ones may stay in the box for a while, until I figure out where to put sidings. I will likely pick up a UCS Controller and two 260 die-cast lighted bumbers. I plan to do two parallel circuits - each with two UCSs - two on the West side of the layout, and two on the East side. The next thing to do (after I check all the switch interconnections, is to do an East and West block, so I can run two trains independently. Alfred

Just picked this beauty up at the Strasburg show over the weekend. It is an old US Hobbies model that had been super detailed, custom painted/weathered and upgraded to a Pittman can motor. Just blew me away by the craftmanship. Given that Kanawhas are my favorite C&O steamers, I could not pass it up. Plan to install TSCWOW 501 decoder and multiple Tang Band speakers in the near future.

Looks like a beautiful model. I don’t know anything about that maker but looks like this do/did great work. It is an old, unfinished brass model that was completely reworked and custom painted/decaled by a gentleman by the name of Bill Heaton.

Try Christmas Berry by Mega-Steam. I think it is the best Christmas related smoke fluid in our hobby.

Adam, Nice haul - enjoy. When I went to pick up two repaired O22 switches, I got a Controller for mthe UCS for my independent inner track loop. I also got a Lionel 260 Lighted Bumper for a spur I want to install - it will be for assembling consists. It will be off the main line entering Westbound. I will use the right O22 turnout that I got with a pair about 2 weeks ago. Alfred

The Williams Canadian Pacific FM Trainmaster arrived early this week but I didn’t get a chance to fiddle with it until yesterday and today. After some rewiring, cleaning and lubrication, it runs as you would expect a Williams engine to run. Very strong puller and smooth. I’ll do a video in the near future.

Not much since April's York Meet. Just a MTH Milwaukee Road caboose, as I had a deficiency of cabooses in relation to my matching motive power.
I also bought about $200 worth of masonite and framing lumber to try to keep our new cats away from the layout. It was an exercise in futility. The act of adding it only made them more curious!

A local train hobby shop (J&G Trains and Collectables), just a mile from where I live, closed in April. The M. B. Klein store in downtown Baltimore, moved North into the county and went to web sales. It is getting harder to browse equipment in person (except at shows). I like the in-person experience - you get to talk trains, etc. One of the buying experiences I have had was shopping at Madison Hardware. That was a long time ago; when I was young in the 60's growing up in NYC. Alfred
